Final Test England batsman Kevin Pietersen dropped from Test squad against SA in Lord's

Kevin PietersenA text messages pietersen sent to south african players are the cause for his exclusion from the team on the promising youngster, jonny bairstow has been named as his replacement ECB had given the middle order batsman a chance to explain himself but heard nothing from him to kP wouldn't or could not prove that the texts sent to SA weren't derogatory even after the ECB had given him a further 6 hours this morning and the kp is end of the carrier?.

The bairstow has had an uncomfortable test match against west indies earlier this summer, and who returns in place of pietersen after a century for england lions against Australia A, who will bear the brunt of a pietersen will now have to wait to see if he is selected in England's 15 for in icc twenty20 world cup in sri lanka next month for squad has yet to be announced to that deadline is fast approaching and if he was critical of the likes of andrew strauss his captain and andy flower, the director of cricket, as has been alleged to after a disastrous week pietersen still has an awful lot of apologising to do.

A success of the england team has been built on a unity of purpose and trust to we have made every attempt to find a solution to enable Kevin to be selected we have sadly had to conclude in the best interest of the team for he will miss the Lords test and the south africa lead three match series 1-0 and the final match will be played at the lord's cricket ground on thursday.

Shivnarine ChanderpaulThe West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has regained the No.1 ranking for Test batsmen after nearly three years and he was the leading run-scorer in the recently concluded home Test series against Australia with 346 runs at an average of 86.50.

He reached the top after his twin half-centuries in the final Test in Dominica, moving ahead of the South African duo of Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers and he also passed the 10,000-run mark in the series for the chanderpaul last attained the No. 1 ranking in July 2008 and held it for seven month for he briefly dropped to No. 2 in February 2009 in returned to the top spot three Tests later, after the fifth Test against England in Trinidad.

England skipper Strauss confident about future

Andrew Strauss heads home from Asia confident his future as skipper is secure after England ended a miserable run in Tests by beating Sri Lanka to draw the series 1-1 and retain their number-one ranking.

The tourists eased to an eight-wicket win in the second and final Test at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo on Saturday to make amends for the 75-run loss in the first Test in Galle, which was their fourth straight Test match defeat this year.

England's losses, including an embarrassing 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, had left them teetering on the brink of losing their top ranking.

The one blemish in the hard-fought series against Sri Lanka was Strauss's own batting form. He made just 114 runs in four innings at an average of 28.50.

The left-hander appeared to have found his rhythm when he hit 61 in the first innings of the second Test, but he fell for a duck in the first over of the second innings as England chased a modest target of 94.

Strauss has not added to his 19 Test centuries in 25 innings and has just one three-figure knock in his past 50 innings, raising questions about his future in the side. But the skipper said he had never doubted himself or his leadership role.

Kohli should take No: 3 slot: Sourav Ganguly

India's new batting super star Virat Kohli, who has hit three centuries in his last 4 innings, is the ideal batsman to fill in the No: 3 spot in Test cricket left by Rahul Dravid, former captain Sourav Ganguly has said.

Rahul Dravid recently retired from International cricket.

Talking on the sidelines of the launch of a documentary on his cricketing career, 'The Warrior Prince', Ganguly said Kohli is the next big thing to have happened to Indian cricket.

Talking about Kohli's blistering 148-ball 183 in their record win over Pakistan in Asian cup, Ganguly said, "He is the next big thing in Indian cricket. I've never seen a better one-day cricket innings in my 22 years career. I hope he fills up the place of the champion Rahul Dravid at No 3," Ganguly said.

Ganguly also congratulated Sachin Tendulkar for completing 100 international centuries.

"I had always said it was a matter of time. It's a colossal achievement. I congratulate Sachin. I only sent a text message."

David Hussey Dream for to Play Test Cricket

David Hussey will turn 35 in July this year but the veteran batsman has not given up hopes of playing in the next World Cup in 2015 and also making a late Test debut for Australia and the he feels that it will be tough for the selectors to keep him out of the side if he keeps.

"You want to be in a winning World Cup, it's probably second to playing Test cricket for Australia," said Hussey, who will be 37 by the time of the next World Cup.

He said he had also taken heart from the way his brother Michael had fought back last summer, after critics had called for his head ahead of the Ashes series and they are both stubborn people say you're too old or you've lost your form or you're not good enough to play at the level, you get your back up and want to get out there and prove a lot of people wrong, he said.
