Australia Strong Position for Michael Clarke Unbeaten Century

The Australia captain and batsman Michael Clarke was laugh at after suggesting that Australia could bounce back to win the series after the 347-run beating at England's hands at Lord's other than on Thursday, many supporter would have been clean off their grins after the Australian captain led a much better batting performance with a genuine 24th Test century and was mixed up in an unbroken 174-run stand with Steve Smith 70 not out to take the Baggy Greens to a strong 303/3 by the end of Day 1 of the third Ashes Test.

The Clarke took 32 balls to move from 90 to 100 but it was value the wait for a struggling touring group, who stand up as one and highly praised a dazzling effort and the right-handed batsman went on to finish with an unbeaten 125 and he now looks excellent to score.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat

Score:

Australia 1st innings: 303/3 for 90 overs

Michael Clarke 125 not out
Steve Smith 70 not out
