The 22 years and 202 days, Root became England's youngest Ashes centurion at Lord's as the Yorkshire batsman record his second ton in just his eighth Test and the root's heroics present the groundwork for England to push Australia closer to a second straight defeat, with the hosts down only two wickets to close on 333 for five a lead of 566 with two days to play.

The England's star player was subjected to some high-quality natured crack from Billy during every drinks break and he has been abuse me all day take drinks out, so he really had to be good to me when I got the century, Root said.

England Top-order Batsmen Hold the Key says Stuart Broad
Forthcoming two-Test series with New Zealand and the England's top order found life a lot harder going in New Zealand someplace the teams in recent times common a three-match series 0-0.
The England only runaway a surprise series defeat thanks to a dazzling last-ditch unbeaten hundred from wicket-keeper Matt Prior that without New Zealand victory by just one wicket in the third Test in Auckland.
A team looking back at New Zealand, agree to our skills were not as high-quality as they could have been but the fighting nature to bat out two days to set aside match is the sort of spirit you need in Test cricket," Broad said at Lord's on Tuesday.
A centrepiece of England's time of year will be the Ashes series against Australia opening in July but Broad insist New Zealand were extra than a side show.

Australia Recall for Two 35-year-old Veterans for the Ashes Series Squad
The Cricket Australia (CA) Selectors picked batsmen and wicketkeeper Brad Haddin and opening batsmen Chris Rogers, with five openers among seven specialist batsmen at the side of just one spinner, Nathan Lyon, for the Australia tour of United Kingdom 2013 five-match Ashes Test series starting in Nottingham on July 10.
The Brad Haddin and Chris Rogers are the hard-bitten campaigners well-known to join Australia's Ashes tourist at the same time as the young allrounder James Faulkner's addition in the squad for England has intensify difficulty on Shane Watson to earn his place ahead of the series.
However I will be positive and say 50/50 at this distance for the australia has got a lot of excellent fast bowlers and that is the key to this squad doing well it has incredible strike power.
Ashes squad:
Michael Clarke (capt), Brad Haddin (vice-capt, wk), David Warner, Ed Cowan, Phillip Hughes, Shane Watson, Usman Khawaja, Chris Rogers, Matthew Wade (wk), James Faulkner, Ryan Harris, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird.

At the same time as England's bowlers were fixed sending down 27 maidens from first to last the day, the New Zealanders kept back the runs ticking over thanks to the little boundaries at Eden Park, which is in general used as a rugby venue.
